Driver's Education

DMV-Approved Online Course for California Teens

What Is Driver's Education?

Driver's education is a mandatory educational course that California requires all teens under the age of 17 and a half to complete before they can obtain a learner's permit. It's the very first step in the process of getting a California driver's license.

The course covers everything from traffic laws and road signs to the dangers of impaired driving and the responsibilities that come with operating a vehicle. It's designed to give new drivers the knowledge foundation they need before they ever get behind the wheel.

Without a driver's education certificate, the DMV will not issue a learner's permit to anyone under 17 and a half. If you're 17 and a half or older, driver's education is not required, but it's still highly recommended — the knowledge it provides makes you a safer, more informed driver.

How Our Online Course Works

Our DMV-approved driver's education course is designed to be convenient, thorough, and easy to complete from anywhere. Here's what makes it work for busy teens and families:

Self-Paced Learning

Work through the material at your own speed. There's no set class time — study when it works for you, whether that's after school, on weekends, or during a break.

Complete from Any Device

Access the course from a computer, tablet, or phone. All you need is an internet connection. Pick up right where you left off, anytime.

Video Lessons & Quizzes

Engaging video content paired with quizzes after each module helps reinforce what you've learned. It's designed to be interactive, not just reading walls of text.

DMV-Approved Curriculum

Our course meets all California DMV requirements. Upon completion, you receive a certificate of completion that the DMV accepts when you apply for your learner's permit.

Certificate Provided

Once you pass all the modules and the final quiz, your certificate of completion is provided. You'll need this document when you visit the DMV to take your written permit test.

Support When You Need It

Have questions about the course material or the permit process? Our team is available by phone or email to help you through it.
